Last week I was swamped over here with illustration projects and Etsy sales. On Thursday my e-mail was flooded with orders for the tandem bike print. One of the buyers mentioned that she found me through creature comforts, another fabulous blog about fashion, design and art.  A big thanks to Ez for her kind words about my work!

Recently a lot of illustration assignments coming my way focus on mediation techniques and the practice of visualization. The timing of these articles is just too perfect. While I watch the economy tank and try to navigate wedding planning from a distance, all I can do is take a deep breath. It seems like we could all use a little calm and the encouragement to believe that everything will work out…eventually.

Today a friend e-mailed to let me know my work was featured on decor8! It was so exciting to see my work on this fabulous design site. Holly wrote a  lovely review and pulled me straight of a creative funk that was looming. Thanks Holly! On another note….Michele Maule , one of my new favorites, just wrote a great piece about her artwork on Indie Fix . Her beautiful paintings covey the real loneliness that comes with relocation and art making. The way she paints everyday objects will make you believe that even alarm clocks have souls.

Seriously someone needs to pinch me. First one of my all time favorite bloggers Naomi, of Rockstar Diaries posted my Etsy Banner on her site…AND then Joanna the fabulous writer from Smitten (Glamour  Magazine’s online blog) gave me a special shout out this Friday in her weekly round up. The generosity of both of these very talented women just blows my mind. Special thanks to Alison for being such a good friend and encouraging me to send my work to writers and designers in the blogosphere.

Last week I found an old train schedule from my first solo trip across Europe. The graphic blue time tables inspired this new bird illustration above. Prints are available here. Feeling a whole lot of gratitude today…
